Lost Cat

  1. Missing Cat – Please help find our missing cat. If you see Amos, please contact Lynn Glessner at 425-255-6970 or email lglessner@gmail.com. Thanks!
  2. Dog Found - As my kids and I were leaving the neighborhood last Thursday, we found what appeared to be a stray dog by the Woodside Common's Park.  The dog was limping slowly down the middle of the road and appeared to be confused and lost.  The dog is an elderly, male black lab who has been neutered.  He has a purple collar with no tags.  He appeared to need medical attention so we took him to the nearest recommended 24 hour veterinary clinic which was willing to take him in and treat him.  They checked him for a mico-chip which unfortunately he didn't have.  If you are missing a dog that matches this description or know of someone who is, please contact Michele Barrett at 206-999-1256 or via e-mail, michele63barrett@yahoo.com.
  3. Cat Reunited – The female gray/brown cat was reunited with his owners last week.  Thanks for helping figure out where she lived near the public access.  Her name was Gypsy. Submitted by Heather Smith,

  4. Neighborhood Watch – Word is out that last Tuesday there was a break-in in Woodside on the tower hill that took place between 2-5p. The residents told a neighbor that the alarm hadn't been working.  They took a lot of stuff, including a large plasma TV. There was mention that there have been a lot of prowlers lately. If you have an alarm system, make sure it's working properly and use it - especially this time of year! acme_ws@comcast.net.
  5. Lake Desire Christmas PartyThis Friday, Dec. 18th, 5:30-7:30pm – We have a special guest Santa for our Christmas Party this year. He has been the Macy's Santa for 10 years and at South Center and Super Mall before that for a total of 15 years.  He has a real beard. So bring your kids and your cameras. Hot dogs, punch and dessert will be served.  There will also be crafts, gifts and time to meet your neighbors.  This year, we are asking for donations of canned food for those in need.  If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net.
  6. Nominations – It is time for annual nominations for the Lake Desire President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  We are also looking for a Lake Desire Community Member to volunteer for a two year position on the Board.  Anyone who is a Community Member for at least a year, and has attended 2 functions over the year is eligible for these positions.  Please send in your nominations by 12/31/09 so we can send out ballots in the mail in January.  If you have not attended any functions, but are still interested in volunteering, we can find a place for you!  Contact Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net. Thanks!
  7. Annual Lake Desire Newsletter – We are getting ready for our annual newsletter to go out in January.  If you have any news or ads, please send them to Heather Smith, Heather@smith.net by 12/31/09.
